How this directory is built

It lists every incorporated place and census-designated community in Georgia whose Census Bureau internal point lies within 45 straight-line miles of the City of Atlanta's, plus Rome, from the 2025 Census Gazetteer file for Georgia places. Distances are approximate. Providers, permit offices and notes come from the providers' and local governments' own websites and ordinances, checked in October 2026.

A sewer provider can serve only part of a city, and some homes inside a sewered city still use septic tanks. For the general rules, see who is responsible for your sewer line; for an active backup, what to do first.
